Artist Biography
JIN, born in 1995, is a distinguished Chinese painter specializing in figurative art with a focus on portraiture. She holds a BA in Illustration from Arts University Bournemouth and an MA in Illustration with a concentration in painting from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Her artistic practice centers on exploring identity, intimate relationships, and the complex facets of female subjectivity. She is particularly fascinated by the quiet, seemingly uneventful moments that hold profound emotional weight, striving to capture ineffable feelings through her brushwork. Her research delves into feminist discourses of self - representation and the struggles of individuals navigating emotional bonds, challenging traditional gender roles while documenting the diversity of contemporary female identities. Starting in 2025, she has expanded her creative vision to construct visual spaces that embrace the complexity of women's emotions, exploring the "growth" of female identity within the realm of feelings.
